SMART Client 2.0.0.12 made config.json optional, added driver report export, added early ARM device support, and improved Citizenship mode visibility.
Version
- SMART Client version: 2.0.0.12
- Release date: 16 January 2026
- Status: Previous
What Changed
- config.json is now optional: Standard setups can run with SMART.exe and auth.txt. Use config.json only when you need overrides or startup Wi-Fi configuration.
- Driver report export: Export a .txt file listing missing or outdated drivers to the desktop for auditing or offline troubleshooting.
- ARM device support: Early support for ARM-based devices was added.
- Citizenship mode visibility: When injecting a Citizenship key, SMART clearly shows Citizenship mode in the client interface.
Fixed Issues
- Fixed an issue where the Citizenship override in config.json was not applying correctly.
- Improved relaunch behaviour after a driver-install restart.
- Improved SMART Shield behaviour when reusing a previously injected key.
- Fixed SMART Sysprep Shutdown/Restart behaviour so the selected action is followed correctly.
Upgrade Notes
- For most users, auth.txt and SMART.exe are enough. Use config.json only for custom logic, overrides, or Wi-Fi profiles.
- Driver export is useful on Pay As You Go when technicians need a record of missing drivers before continuing.
- ARM support is early-stage. Raise a support ticket if you test ARM hardware and encounter issues.
