Add Your Company Logo to SMART Client

Customers on the PRO plan can display their company logo in the SMART Client header.

Before you begin

You’ll need:

• An active SMART PRO subscription
• Your company logo in PNG format
• Access to the folder containing the SMART Client application

Prepare your logo

For the best results, prepare the image using these recommendations:

• Recommended size: 1200 × 300 pixels
• Aspect ratio: 4:1
• File format: PNG
• Background: Transparent
• Alignment: Position the logo artwork against the left side of the canvas
• Leave a small amount of transparent padding around the artwork so it does not touch the edges
• Avoid small text and very fine details

Do not tightly crop a square or vertical logo. SMART Client displays the image inside a wide header area and preserves its proportions. A tightly cropped or square image will be centred, leaving noticeable space on its left and right.

You can download and edit this logo if you need a good starter template:

Add your logo

1. Close SMART Client.
2. Rename your prepared image exactly logo.png.
3. Find the folder containing the SMART Client executable.
4. Copy logo.png into that folder.
5. Reopen SMART Client.

After SMART Client authenticates your account and confirms that it is on the PRO plan, the logo will appear on the left side of the application header.

Replace your logo

1. Close SMART Client.
2. Replace the existing logo.png with your new image.
3. Reopen SMART Client.

The updated logo should appear when the application starts.

Remove your logo

1. Close SMART Client.
2. Delete logo.png from the SMART Client application folder.
3. Reopen SMART Client.

Troubleshooting

The logo does not appear

Check that:

• Your account is on the PRO plan.
• The file is named exactly logo.png.
• Windows has not added another extension, such as logo.png.png.
• The file is a valid PNG image.
• The file is in the same folder as the running SMART Client executable.
• You restarted SMART Client after adding the file.

If you launch SMART Client from a shortcut, right-click the shortcut and select Open file location to find the application folder.

There is too much space to the left of the logo

SMART Client displays the logo inside a wide area with an approximate 4:1 aspect ratio. It preserves the image’s proportions and centres the complete image within that area.

To keep the visible logo on the left:

1. Create a transparent 1200 × 300 pixel canvas.
2. Position the logo artwork against the left side.
3. Leave only a small transparent margin around the artwork.
4. Export the complete canvas as logo.png.

Do not tightly crop the canvas around square or vertical artwork, as this will cause the logo to be centred with empty space on both sides.

The logo appears too small

Check that the artwork uses a suitable amount of the 1200 × 300 canvas. Excessive transparent space above, below, or around the artwork will make it appear smaller.

Use a horizontal version of your company logo where possible.

I cannot copy the file into the application folder

Windows may require administrator permission if SMART Client is stored in a protected folder. Ask your IT administrator to add or replace the file.

Can Essentials or Pay As You Go customers use a custom logo?

No. Custom company logos are available only to customers on the PRO plan.
